HyTrust Names Tom de Jongh as VP Sales, International

Anchors HyTrust's Expansion to Meet Global Demand for Private and Hybrid Cloud Security

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif.--HyTrust Inc., the Cloud Security Automation Company, today announced that Tom de Jongh has been named to the position of VP Sales, International, giving him responsibility for HyTrust's expansion into target markets in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia Pacific. As a security industry veteran, he's spent more than 15 years in sales, channel, product management, marketing and consulting. The HyTrust assignment offers the perfect position from which to support the strong demand for HyTrust solutions in these rapidly growing markets and to support HyTrust's many international customers.

"Having spent the past 15 years in data security, I know well how dynamic this field is—new threats come out of nowhere every day—and it takes a similarly dynamic company to stay ahead of the dangers"

"Data sovereignty and data security continue to be primary drivers for our international customers. As we train our sights on new markets in EMEA and APAC, Tom has exactly the experience, expertise and contacts needed to introduce our technology to organizations that require a much higher level of information security than they currently have," said Rudy Cifolleli, senior vice president of sales at HyTrust. "We're excited to welcome him to the team, and we look forward to launching many more initiatives specifically aimed at growing our presence in these regions."

HyTrust recently introduced HyTrust Boundary Controls, which allow organizations to automate security policy to ensure virtualized workloads can only run and be decrypted when operating on trusted Intel hardware. These unique capabilities have been well received in Europe where data privacy regulations are among the strictest in the world. Mr. de Jongh will also work closely with HyTrust's key strategic partners, including Intel, VMware and VCE, to support cloud security demand through these channels.

Mr. de Jongh was most recently Senior VP with Prolexic (now part of Akamai), the world's largest provider of mitigation services for distributed denial of service (DDoS) protection. In this capacity he oversaw all teams across Europe, Emerging Markets and Asia Pacific/Japan, and grew the business to become the dominant player in its field.

Before that posting he was Director of Data Protection at McAfee, which is part of Intel Security, the world's largest dedicated security technology company. In this position, among other responsibilities, he had global oversight for the Encrypted USB product line for more than three years. Earlier, he worked as a Product Manager at SafeBoot, where introduced several new product lines into the global market. Mr. de Jongh joined SafeBoot in 2000 and took on responsibility for SafeBoot's worldwide marketing strategy. As a member of the executive team, he also played an important role in the development and communication of the company's strategy, vision and positioning, and helped propel SafeBoot and its line of data protection products from startup status to a leadership position in its market.

Over the course of his career, he has held numerous roles in security consulting and product management. He's written extensively on the issue of information security, and his articles have been published in numerous technology magazines and journals. Mr. de Jongh studied International Economics at Universiteit Utrecht in the Netherlands and has a bachelor's degree in Technical Business Administration and Marketing from the Hogeschool Utrecht.

"Having spent the past 15 years in data security, I know well how dynamic this field is—new threats come out of nowhere every day—and it takes a similarly dynamic company to stay ahead of the dangers," Mr. de Jongh noted. "HyTrust is exactly that kind of company. At a time when so many organizations appreciate the advantages of public clouds and virtual infrastructures, but hesitate because of risk, HyTrust does the vital work of establishing the control, visibility and security needed to ensure that workloads can run securely throughout their lifetime. I'm thrilled to join the team here, and I believe my background will play an important role in expanding our presence in many new markets."
